In this blog entry I will be covering IT support technology and explaining why it’s constantly changing; I will be also researching new support systems technology available and I will be providing feedback and reviewing recent advances in support systems technology.

Control software is term describing software designed to restrict or control the content a reader is authorised to access, it is usually used when users are utilised to restrict material delivered over the Internet via the Web, e-mail, or other means. Content-control software determines what content will be available or if more often what content will be blocked.

An advantage of IT support in organisations they are allowed to use control software so they have an idea of all the different sites that the employee are going on during the day. This is very good because it allows organisations to know the where about of their employees.  This is a huge benefit due to organisations being able to track down employees.  One reason why it’s good is that if organisations need to call for assistance for employees they can. I.e. if a computer system breaks down within the organisation, control software enables the organisation to track down the technicians within the organisation, even though they may be in different sites. So a benefit of this is it allows the organisation to get things down quickly and effectively, due to control software allowing effective communication within the organisation.  A second benefit of control software is the organisation can see if their employees are truanting. Due to control software allowing organisations to track down employees, organisations can see if employees are in are correct places i.e. the correct site. So it means organisations have full control of employees and they can see f their working correctly and not truanting.

A disadvantage IT support use of control software is that firstly, it invades employee’s privacy. Due to control software allowing organisation to track down employees’ position i.e. what site they are in. This will make employees very angry and agitated due to their personal privacy being broken. This will result in employees being angry within the organisation and making taking action, such as going on strike. This will cause a lot of controversy within organisation, due to the businesses not being able to function, due to employees going on strike; this will result in the organisation loosing revenue because the business is not functioning. Also it could result in employees being de-motivated within the organisation. The reasons for this are due to the employees feeling like they are not valued within the organisation, due to their privacy being taken away from them. So this will result in the organisation not functioning to the best of its ability, due to employees not being motivated, which results in employees not working to their full potential which will affect the organisation.

Impero: Impero is designed to address desktop, network and classroom management in the learning environment. It’s easy to install with no client configuration, it’s easy to use with an exceptionally intuitive user interface and, most importantly, it works with years of experience and product development behind it. The education pro allows users to go look at the following computer lab management, print management, computer usage monitoring, power management, e-safety, patch management, desktop utilisation, licence management, inventory management, remote control and support. Impero education started in education, Impero understand education and recognise the unique requirements of the education sector. Impero also work with Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Colleges and Universities. Impero have developed a range of powerful classroom management software solutions designed to promote a better, safer and more dynamic learning environment. The unique features of Impero are firstly, its allows users to block any given sites from students entering, also Impero users can access files from student documents and finally Impero users can log off students from their computer login, by taking full control of their computer.

NetSupport: A classroom management solution is not simply about providing the right tools for each teacher. Equally important are tools to ensure all computers in the school can be managed and maintained so they are always available for teaching. With this in mind, NetSupport School also provides a unique "Tech Console" specifically for Lab Technicians and Network Managers. Using the Tech Console you can firstly, monitor all computers across the school network in a single view. This is very good due to allowing schools to see what all students and teachers are accessing within the organisation, so they can find out if students are in unappropriated sites etc. Secondly, monitor application and Internet usage on each Student PC. This is a huge benefit because it allows teachers to see what students are accessing. Also technician will be able to manage how much internet usage students are using, so they can still maintain fast internet usage. Finally Net Support allows users broadcast messages to groups or all network users in seconds. This is a huge benefit due to allowing effective communication within organisations such as school. Also it’s less time consuming.

NetOp: Netop provides a single, secure channel for online personal service, education and very good technical support. The way NetOp is different from other classwork management software is vision Pro classroom management software sets the standard.  Dynamic presentation tools make teaching with technology intuitive and engaging, from high-speed screen sharing to on-screen annotation tools.  Do you want ultimate web control and class-wide remote login?  How about over 70 dynamic teaching tools from WizTeach?  It's all here in Vision Pro.

In my opinion, I think that all control software’s are very important to organisations such as schools. Due to the control software’s having unique features, which I mentioned in my assignment. Such as allowing teachers to view student’s screens, and controlling all the monitors etc. This is a huge benefit to teachers, due to giving them the power they need to produce a productive working environment, which students can listen and work efficiently. I also feel it’s worth the money, due to all the queue features it has. I also feel it brings better results, such as making teachers more confident and allowing students to work efficiently. So it’s defiantly worth the money because it will bring better results such as better GCSES results etc.

In conclusion, I feel control software’s had many good advantages, such as having unique features which allow a positive working environment in schools. I feel there are minimal disadvantages with control software’s, which it’s expensive. But in my opinion I feel organisations such as schools, should invest in control software due to all the positive outcomes it will bring into the education system etc.
